The Leathernecks got within two (12-10) during the 11th minute of the first period, but could not come any closer to the Jaguars during the remainder of the contest.
The Jaguars demolished Western following a disappointing overtime loss to IPFW last week.
"I had a mad basketball team," said IUPUI head coach Ron Hunter. "We just felt we had to make a statement to ourselves, not Western. I didn't think we would win like this, but I knew our intensity all week."
IUPUI went into the locker room achieving its largest lead (34-20) yet in the contest.
Western started the second half flat, as the Jaguars went ahead 42-20 at the 15:34 mark. Forwards Alex Young and Robert Glenn led the Jaguars in the second period.
Glenn contributed 19 points in the second half, finishing with 27, while Young shot a perfect four out of four in the second period with a total of 20 points.
IUPUI got ahead as many as 36 points in the second half, as the 'Necks trailed 65-29 at the 6:18 mark.
"I'm just kind of stunned," said head coach Jim Molinari. "I didn't expect that from our team. It's my responsibility. We didn't look like we wanted to attack the zone, and it didn't look like we could handle the ball-screen. I'm greatly disappointed, but I'm not going to get discouraged."
Molinari sent in freshman players Abdou Niang and Jelani Johnson as well as juniors Brandon Smith and Arsenio Mims during the second period, as he was disappointed with his main contributors.
"I didn't give up on the game," Molinari said. "To be honest with you, I just wanted to play people that our fans could watch that would play with energy and have some fight. That's why I played that group in the second half."
The 'Necks have a two-game road trip ahead of them this week, starting with Oral Roberts on Thursday. Following the contest with the Golden Eagles, Western faces Centenary on Saturday.
