Top five reasons to watch the Super Bowl

Super Bowl time has come and passed. This unofficial American holiday draws massive ratings, and frankly it would be a mortal sin not to mention it.
We decided to have some fun and create a good ole fashioned list.
So without further ado, we present to you the top five reasons why people watch the Super Bowl.
Drinking
Some people need an excuse to drink on Sunday. Macomb, while being dry on Sundays, makes an exception just one day a year and will sell liquor for the duration of the Super Bowl.
While some may question why a county law based on religious superstition can be temporarily suspended for a ball game, it makes perfect sense to us. After all, the Saints played.
Commercials
The commercials are another part of the Super Bowl that draws in the crowd. In fact, some watch the Super Bowl solely for witty beer commercials and a few other products that actually took time to be creative while hawking their product.
According to VANews.com in 2009, the cost for a 30-second commercial reached an average of $3 million. Doing some quick math, for every 30-second TV spot that Budweiser runs, they have to sell at least 2.4 million bottles of beer to break even.
No wonder people feel the need to drink for this game.
Gambling
Everyone enjoys a nice friendly bet every once and awhile. And of course, many people love to bet a day's salary on whether or not an irregularly-shaped ball will enter the end zone a certain amount of times.
Gambling is a great way to enjoy the Super Bowl, particularly when an individual's favorite team is not playing. The on field actions that were merely trivial a few moments ago now become edge-of-your-seat entertainment. That is until the spread is not covered and a victory celebration is canceled in lieu of a way to escape the bookie.
To fit in
Let's face it, pretty much everyone has to at least know what happened during the Super Bowl, because that's what all the talk will be about today.
Whether it's a die-hard fan who starts graphing out what each team did wrong, or the person who thinks they can join the conversation just because they saw Peyton Manning in a commercial one time, everyone will have something to say.
People will either be talking about the Super Bowl, or proudly exclaiming that they didn't see it. Which is just so rebellious and different that their decision to avoid the most popular thing on television will be met with awe. Either that or complete indifference.
And finally, the number one reason everyone watched the Super Bowl…
To see The Who play "One last time" - one last time.
