Coffee shop shows art

Sullivan Taylor Coffee House hosted its biannual juried art show on Friday, Feb. 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Many art majors and students participated in the contest. The event was organized by Western Illinois Univeristy art professor Brett Eberhardt.

Karla Kampen, senior general music education major, took first place with her oil painting titled "The View."

Kampen also used the painting for her final project, which in class and it took her three weeks to finish.

Although she is a music education major she said she always combines art and music.

"I have a passion for art," Kampen said. The art will be up for the rest of the month.
