James Cameron, director of "Titanic," shines again in the visually groundbreaking 3-D movie "Avatar." Sam Worthington of "Terminator: Salvation" fame and the esteemed Zoe Saldana, from "Star Trek" and "Drumline" star in this epic adventure into the world of Pandora, circa 2154. Other stars, including Sigourney Weaver, round out this stellar cast, and all involved make this film truly memorable.

While some of the film is subtly used as a platform for espousing environmental concern and anti-war sentiments, its real majesty comes forth in its truly epic array of diverse landscapes and the creatures inhabiting them. Specifically, set pieces like the aptly named floating Hallelujah Mountain ranges stretch limitlessly into the distance, and a plethora of neon-hued dragon-like creatures dart about as the main cast flies around them.

Even the animals themselves amaze and delight the audience in an ecstasy of color. From the smallest, dull looking lizard erupts a brilliance of whirling, fluttering wings, brightly glowing red the moment something slightly disturbs it. The entire film is an exhibition of both imagination and technical brilliance.

With a budget of more than $150 million, much like the romance "Titanic," "Avatar" lives up to its potential and then some. It has already made over one billion dollars, and it seems that that number is only going to keep rising. Its stars shine just enough to connect with the audience in their passion for their roles and through that the audience connects with the world of Pandora and everything in it. Cameron gives us nearly three hours of scenes packed with action, wonder, and amazement as we explore this new world, and leaves us wanting more and more.

This is definitely a movie to see multiple times, and in 3-D if you can. It's also a movie worth owning, when it comes out on DVD nd Blu-Ray. It's a film not soon forgotten, and one that will be remembered forever.
