Every once in awhile I look at entertainment news. I figure I should see what other people who cover the medium are doing. The problem with doing this is that the news never changes. Whenever somebody watches or reads this type of information it always focuses on the same couple of folks .
Every time I log onto Google entertainment news, which is a compilation of all kinds of celebrity reporting, I know exactly what to expect.
Rihanna is certainly going to be in there, which would make sense, as she is a talented artist, but it's never about that. It has more to do with the fact that that loser Chris Brown repeatedly punched her in the face. He has gotten more press from smacking his chick around than from actually accomplishing anything.
I guess it goes to show that if somebody wants some fame, they just need to be a part of a terrible failed relationship.
Speaking of terrible failed relationships, Jon and Kate are sure to get plenty of attention on a daily basis as well. Originally famous for popping out more kids than a midwife, they are now famous for bickering and sleeping with other people.
They are basically like any defunct college couple, only a lot more successful at using whorishness to further fame.
It is quite silly that now one of the least interesting things about Jon and Kate is having more children than a poor third world village.
Moving from the freak show to the freakily dressed, Lady Gaga's spotlight seems to refuse to fade. In all honesty, once she strips away the auto tunes and lousy costumes, she is a talented singer and songwriter, as made evident in her acoustic videos, but that's never the focus.
Lady Gaga gets more attention for wearing and saying crazy things than anything else. If that were all it took to get media attention, it's a wonder why the homeless don't have their own reality show by now.
Beyond that genius idea that would make me filthy rich if I knew how to do it, let's talk about someone who has made more money in his death than any of us can ever dream of: Michael Jackson.
It amazes me that we still get news about Jackson long after his untimely death. I say untimely because if it had happened a decade ago he would be Elvis legendary, as opposed to Gary Glitter legendary.
The most recent news is about the Jackson film "This Is It," which appropriately came out right around Halloween. After all, what could be a better release date for a film about a ghoulish skeleton?
Ah well, I guess I shouldn't complain. These people are good at getting into the news, and they are interesting enough for people with boring lives to read about. It's easy to tell the media they should be covering something else, but I won't. I'll end by taking a page from Chris Brown and Michael Jackson's book and just beat it.
