On behalf of the Take Back the Night Planning Committee, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the Western Illinois University and Macomb community's 20th annual Take Back the Night March and Rally on Oct. 8, 2009.
This year's march and rally, which had over 400 participants, even with the inclement weather, was a tremendous success. With your help, an important message was conveyed to the WIU campus and Macomb community about the prevalence of domestic violence and sexual assault and the need for a community-wide commitment to end the threats and incidents of violence.
In addition to your attendance at the march and rally, we appreciate your publicizing of the event. Your support helps make this event the success that it is every year, and we couldn't have had as good attendance as we did without you and your efforts. Thank you so much.
We hope this experience was meaningful to you. Clearly, the campus and community came together to work to eliminate sexual and domestic violence.
Mark your calendar now for Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 for the 21st annual TBTN march and rally! We look forward to your continued support and hope to see you again next year.
Sincerely,
-Janine Cavicchia, Director, WIU Women's Center; Diane Mayfield
WIRC-CAA Victim Services; Matt Nelson, TBTN 2009 Coordinating Committee Chair; and Rebecca Chockley, Sexual Assault Medical/Legal Advocate
