Way to keep your head in the sand, Mr. Mayor. "McFly! McFly! Anyone home???" I can't believe THIS is the response from the MAYOR of Macomb. Do you not read the police reports in the paper? Have you never spent any time in the NW particularly on weekend nights? Have you ever made the effort to actually talk to the non-student residents of the NW? You think you have a good relationship with the admin of WIU?? That's not what I heard straight from the mouths of the higher admin officials at WIU. The problems over here go WAY BEYOND someone simply peeing on the railroad tracks. If that was all it was, very few people would probably even know about it or even give a damn. EVERY SINGLE ONE of the other people that wrote a column on this issue admitted that there are problems, yet the mayor is the only one that doesn't see it. Anyone else see a problem with this? This is pathetic. Time to wake up, Mr. Mayor. I think this is a great piece of evidence to answer the question of why more hasn't been done to help find solutions and implement them...the mayor doesn't think there's any problem! Talk about Nero playing the fiddle while Rome burns.
