Detox offers fresh escape

This past August, Macomb got exactly what it needed … another bar. OK, maybe it's not exactly what it needed, but it doesn't hurt. Detox Nightclub has finally opened its doors on 1208 North Lafayette.
Now I know what a lot of you are thinking, "I'm probably never going to Detox because it's so far away from everything else," and I must admit, I thought the same at first. But then it was brought to my attention that the Detox owner is aware of this too, so therefore Detox is the only bar in Macomb that has a free, yes that's right, free shuttle that takes you to and from Detox.
Detox Nightclub has just that, a club feel to it. When you first walk in you are greeted by one of, if not the loudest, speaker system in town. Detox also has a good amount of large HD televisions so you can enjoy the big game. There's also a dance floor that, while it may not be the biggest in Macomb, is still a pretty decent size that looks to fit just about the right number of people that usually dance at the bars around town.
Detox has a small number of seating and tables, but it is going for more of a get up and dance type bar than just a sit down and chill bar, so that's understandable. Detox also has some pretty good specials as well, including $1 bottle Coors/Miller Lite bottles on Fridays.
Like other bars around Macomb, Detox Nightclub has its fair share of themed days like Country Mondays and Mac's Karaoke Wednesdays.
All in all, while Detox Nightclub may not be the biggest or closest bar around, it's a nice alternative if you're bored of all the other bars in town. Once people start to go there and learn about the drink specials, daily themes and free shuttle bus, Detox will have its fair share of fans and will soon be on par with all the other big bars in town.
