The Center for International Studies held their annual Study Abroad Fair last Wednesday at which there was a great turnout.
Students interested in studying abroad in the future attended the fair to receive more information. Handouts, books and other information packets were available to these students.
Those who previously studied abroad were also present at the fair to share their experiences with those interested.
Kim Veal, senior law enforcement and justice administration major, endorsed the WISE Spain trip, which occurs every other year during the spring semester, and the WISE Mexico trip that occurs every summer in Guadalajara for five weeks.
Veal studied in Guadalajara this past summer and was there to share her experiences.
"It was definitely the highlight of my life. I'm really considering going back someday soon. I plan on going back as an independent student and would really enjoy staying with the same house mom," Veal said.
Many different programs are offered through Western, so there is something for everyone. Programs could run as little as the 11 day trip to Russia through the School of Agriculture, or they could run as long as a full semester overseas in countries such as Europe or Australia.
Prices for these programs are very reasonable, and the more students who participate, the cheaper it will be.
In addition to the different program tables, there was a scholarship and financial aid table. There are many different options to choose from to pay for these experiences.
These options will be better explained at the upcoming "How to Find Money" workshop this Wednesday, Sept. 9 from 4-5 p.m. in the Lincoln Room at the University Union.
At this workshop, many different programs and solutions will be introduced to help students pay for a great experience in another country.
