If you've been meaning to get to the library all semester, or just need a break from studying in the library, Game Nite is the place for you.
The Leslie F. Malpass University Library hosted its first Game Nite of the semester last Thursday, Sept. 3. The event featured games ranging from board and card games such as Uno, Clue and Chess to LAN gaming and gaming systems including Xbox 360 and Wii. Light snacks were also served.
Gamers were also encouraged to bring in their own personal gaming systems so they could be hooked up to projection screens for everyone to enjoy. There was also a large group of "Magic: The Gathering" players that regularly show up, so if you are looking to put your Magic skills to the test, this is the place to do it.
Game Nite attracts a diverse age group, and according to Julie Hannen, Game Nite coordinator, "Game Nite brings people of all ages together." There were families, students, campus employees and everyone in between all having a good time, playing any game you would want to play.
Game Nite will be held again on the third floor of the Malpass Library on the first Thursday of the next two months, Oct. 1 and Nov. 5. There will not be a Game Nite held in December due to finals.
