Now that the end of the school year is upon us, the WC takes time to reflect back on the events that have shaped our paper.

Throughout the course of the year the WC has faced much adversity with multiple bomb threats, an ongoing SGA election and an ill-advised Holocaust ad. Through it all the WC has strived to provide the most relevant and current news to its readers.

We have learned from our mistakes and worked hard to correct them, apologized for lapses in decision-making and followed up on stories that needed it. The WC has also made necessary improvements to our paper and staff.

We would also like to pay homage to our seniors that are leaving after graduation. We appreciate your diligent work to make the WC a better newspaper and wish you well in future endeavors.

Eleven staff members will be leaving, which brings some new additions to next year's staff. The new staff members as well as those that remain at the WC have high expectations for next year.

We are dedicated to serving Western as well as the surrounding Macomb community. We have an eye for fine reporting and look to provide informative and meaningful content as well as continuing to be a top tier media outlet in Macomb.

The WC congratulates our seniors but is eager to move forward and set a path defined by success and public service. Throughout the year, we have endured changes, made adjustments and reported the news to the best of our abilities.

Every section of the paper will strive for excellence. News will provide factual concise information to Western, sports will continue to provide fair coverage of each and every team, op-eds will provide relevant columns that spark debate and our Edge section will entertain and inform its readers.

The WC has a challenge in the upcoming year, but we are more than willing to meet and conquer all hurdles.

This school year has brought us many memorable events. Next year is sure to bring the same as we look to continue to grow and improve the WC in all aspects.
