Beu Health Center funding
Mary Margaret Harris, director of Beu Health Center, asked for an increase in funds to continue to provide health services to Western Illinois University students.
According to Harris, Beu is requesting the increase in order to keep providing students with free services like condoms and free flu shots, which would cost students at off-campus locations. She added that Beu is taking other steps to cut costs as well.
The SGA agreed that the increase would be used for the benefit of Western students, and is justified.
Taste of Macomb
The Student Service committee discussed planning the second annual Taste of Macomb event. The event is scheduled for April 19 from noon to 4 p.m. in Chandler Park off the Square.
Like last year's event, booths will be set up, allowing attendees to sample dishes from local restaurants. Other businesses and university organizations will also have booths. A GoWest bus will be available to bring students and families to the event. Tickets are $1 each.
