Jessica Simpson has gone country with the release of her sixth and newest album, "Do You Know," on Sept. 9.

Simpson could be considered one of the most talented and powerful voices of this generation, and with the release of this album she proves she still has it.

This new album sounds like most of Simpson's past work with a few more guitars and a little bit of twang. If anything, this new album could be considered more pop than country. ?

Genre aside, the album, like all of Simpson's other work, is great. Many of the songs on the album sound like classic Jessica Simpson, but every now and then she adds a little twang to her voice. Surprisingly enough, this works for her and she may have found the area of music her career will flourish in. ?

Simpson's album is already doing great with country fans and has reached No. 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart as well as No. 4 on the all-genre Billboard 200 chart.

This album is filled with easygoing, feel-good songs that are great for listening to while hanging out and relaxing. With the help of a few co-writers, Simpson had a hand in writing eight of the 11 songs on the album. She said writing songs about her personal experiences was very emotionally draining, but freeing at the same time.

Making an appearance in the song "Do You Know" is legendary country singer Dolly Parton. The song is pretty good until the end, when it gets a bit overdone. "Do You Know" was No. 1 on iTunes for all genres on Sept. 10.

Critics in the music world are not that crazy about the release of "Do You Know," but sales and fans seem to disagree.

The first song on the album, "Come On Over" was the first single, and a great one, with a foot-tappin' beat. The second song and second single released, "Remember That," is a slower song, but one that many fans love, as proven by more than 20,000 downloads from iTunes last week.

Fans of Jessica Simpson or country music will most likely enjoy this album.
