Sci fi movie festival
On Sept. 3, the Malpass Library will be hosting "Game Nite" from 7:30-10 p.m. on the third floor. The event will have Wii and Xbox gaming, as well as board and role-playing games. Fans of the Edge can stop by from 8-9 p.m. and challenge Western Courier's Edge editor Brent Busby in a game of Wii Sports Tennis. Participants in the challenge will have the chance to win free graphic novels. Who said the library was just for studying?
Library Game Nite
Western will be home to the classic Science Fiction film festival "Yesterday's Tomorrows: Science Fiction in Film from Them 'Til Now," starting Monday, Sept. 8, with the screening of the 1954 "Them!" The films will be shown on Mondays at 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Malpass Library Room 180. Other films to be shown are "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956) on Sept. 15 and "2001: A Space Odyssey" (1968) on Oct. 13.
