To some, using a bathroom is a heedless task, merely a physical demand. To others, true relief is a collectively mental and physical process. Appreciating the condition of a bathroom facility is critical to achieving digestive nirvana. After extensiveley researching Western Illinois Univesity public restrooms, two Courier editors provide you with the best and worst facilities on campus.
Lavatory Glory
"When you gotta go, you gotta go," the old saying says. But in most cases, when you "gotta go" doesn't necessitate where you "gotta go." The following bathrooms are well worth going out of your way for:
•University Union - Ground Level, Women's Restroom
The Union, known for its long lines at Sbarro Pizza and Burger King restaurants, should just as well have female students waiting in line to use one of the best bathrooms on campus. This area is decked out with impressive up-to-date appliances wall to wall. Automatic toilets put this washroom way ahead of the competition, and its darkly stained doors on the stalls and countertops give off a feeling of elegance.
•Malpass Library - Fifth Floor, Men's Restroom
There are multiple stalls, urinals and sinks in a location that guarantees peace and quiet. Never crowded and well maintained, this bathroom is the best men's bathroom on campus. It is well worth going up an elevator for. Grab a Western Courier on your way in for optimal enjoyment.
•Spencer Student Recreation Center - Mezzanine Level
One of the most up-to-date facilities on campus is one of the most underappreciated. Visitors who go directly to the locker rooms often pass on the exclusivity of the one-user bathrooms behind the juice bar. Always clean and as spacious as a Grote Hall Single, be sure to stop by on your way through the Rec.
In The Dumps
Bathrooms are meant to provide relief, but there are some that make you feel outright incarcerated. These pots are the pits.
•Simpkins Hall - All Men's Restrooms
