All around campus, construction is underway to annex and improve Western Illinois University. From new additions to the Spencer Student Recreation Center to improvements on the elevators in some residence hall facilities, a sense of rebuilding has taken over the community.

Perhaps one of the most phenomenal additions that is currently in the building and production process is the construction of a Buffalo Wild Wings, an already well-known eating facility in several Illinois locations and other states.

For the past eight months, an interested developer has had his sights set on Macomb for the location of this soon-to-be business.

"The developer saw a lot of opportunity in Macomb," said Kim Pierce, executive director of the Macomb Area Economic Development Corporation.

Already located in 37 states, this bar and grill has become an instant hit. With a menu packed with classic favorites such as the assistant news editor"All American Burger," nachos, potato wedges, ribs, mozzarella sticks and the infamous chicken wings with 14 different sauces, Buffalo Wild Wings has become a venerated franchise.

Because of its sports bar-like atmosphere, the space will be equipped with televisions and, of course, a bar.

If everything goes as planned, the restaurant, which will be located on East Jackson in the lot in front of Wal-Mart, will be open for business November of this year.

With the correct execution, Pierce said she is expecting a very promising success rate.

Other additions and changes in Macomb's dining scene are underway. For more information about the recent change of Diamond Dave's to The Islands, turn to page 6.
