Should America impeach President Bush?

Cut an American Icon some slack

What are the arguments for ousting him from office? The most popular arguments are the Afghanistan and Iraq military campaigns. Both of these stemmed from the Sept. 11 terror attacks. In all honesty, carpet-bombing Afghanistan was probably going a little overboard, like taking out a beehive using a bazooka. However, he had a very good reason for causing a ruckus in Iraq.

Iraq was invaded because our current George Bush wants to be like his daddy. George H.W. Bush invaded Iraq in an effort to liberate our oil-rich friends in Kuwait. When given some thought, his actions are actually endearing. After all, who amongst us grew up not wanting to be like his or her father?

Some argue that Bush completely screwed up regarding the Hurricane Katrina/New Orleans debacle. To be fair, a city in the United States has never been completely destroyed before. This means there is absolutely no precedent for handling the situation. Thomas Edison did not discover electricity on his first try, and after a few more of our cities get washed away, America will surely have a failsafe plan on how to deal with mega-disasters.

The National Security Agency wiretapping phone lines under President Bush has people up in arms, but it is no big deal. Bush did it for America. This is a man who once owned the Texas Rangers. Baseball is the national pastime, and anyone who owns a professional franchise is obviously a patriot.

Still not convinced? Well, just think about whales whose conversations have been recorded for years. Not only that, but these whale recordings are sold, and the poor cetaceans never receive any royalties. However, they do not complain. You never read about narwhals stabbing people because they were exploited. The point is that we as human beings are better than whales, right? We have legs, and if we were in the ocean, we could leave whenever we wanted. So shut up about invasions of privacy unless you think a marine mammal is better than you.

If you're still not convinced Bush deserves to remain in office, know that Chuck Norris is a staunch Republican. If our president is impeached, Norris will be looking for revenge and will get it the only way he knows how … with deadly roundhouse kicks.

We must seek out leaders that value truthfulness and integrity if we are to restore our democracy and country to its greatness. Our democracy is undermined when our leaders try to misled and manipulate us with deceitful ways. (Continued…)

Zane Ekland has it wrong. Impeachment was included in the Constitution (actually it's in the very Article II that defines the powers of the president), because the nation's founders understood and feared that an executive could use a war to grab power and become a despot, precisely as this president has done. (Continued…)

I highly think Bush should be impeached. I mean, yes he was elected a second time, but we were in fact in the middle of war. So, history repeats itself. (Continued…)

The people are calling for Bush's impeachment not solely because of his unpopular war, we are calling for his impeachment because have been tricked. Yes bamboozled, the wool of fear was pulled over our eyes when we saw the towers fall. (Continued…)

Let's get our facts straight, folks. The articles of impeachment are voted by the US House of Representatives, and tried in the Senate, with the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court presiding (instead of the Vice President). (Continued…)
