Should we convert into a nudist society?
Absolutely not

Out with the clothes and in with the nude? No, thank you.
Have you ever been to a nudist colony? Would you want to take part in one? According to Red Orbit news, a Dutch gym has decided to introduce "Naked Sunday" to the fitness market. Patrick de Man, owner of Fitworld gym in Heteren, Netherlands, got the idea from several nudist clients.
Red Orbit reports de Man's idea has caused much controversy in the Netherlands, but imagine the insanity such a proposal would cause here in Illinois.
Is public nudity a good idea? Many people would say it is a simple expression of feelings, which could be true, but legalizing nudity definitely has its drawbacks.
Not all public nudity is expressive in nature and in most cases, it probably isn't. Those against public nudity claim it would not be accepted because it isn't normal, but many argue that legalizing it would change the norm of our society. I'm sure I could find some examples of public nakedness now, if I actually looked for them. Anyone could, but I doubt its legalization would make it the norm.
Think about this. Would you be comfortable walking to class in your birthday suit? I know I wouldn't, and that statement goes beyond the excuse of being out of shape. Our world would be flipped upside down.
Many of you are here to get a higher education so that you can secure a respectable career. It is nearing the time of year where graduating students are furiously searching for jobs after college.
If that isn't nerve-wracking enough, imagine yourself interviewing in the nude! There is an old saying that goes something like, "If you're ever nervous when talking to a room of people, just imagine them all naked." I really doubt that works. I know I wouldn't want to see my future boss in the buff, and more importantly I wouldn't want him to see me exposed either.
Professionalism would be out of reach. How would one be able to hide the tattoo on his or her back, or conceal scars and rashes that are left undiscovered thanks to clothing? Without attire, people would become more self-conscious than they already are.

The writer of the story of naturism knows very little about naturism. The human body is generally accepted in Europe whereas we in America have adopted the Queen Victorian attitude. (Continued…)

I suspect the author is simply being glib about the subject to generate a response.
Well -- first the use of the word colony makes it clear the author didn't do any real research into this. (Continued…)

Joan D'arc stated you had to pay to see pictures even though it was called a donation. ABSOLUTELY FALSE. We operate on volunary contributions but no one has to pay to see photos. (Continued…)

Ok, I looked at the photos without donating. How come everyone looks like a model. I only saw young couples with families. They all had perfect bodies. (Continued…)

For such an important topic I was disappointed that Rachel could not formulate clear and logical arguments to support her conclusion. As far as I can tell Rachel is opposed to public nudity because: it not the norm and will not be accepted, she feels uncomfortable walking to class naked, food contamination, visible tattoos, scars and such, and because people will loose interest in porn. I want to ask Terry why you would want to walk around in the nude. Does the freedom from clothes provide an ultimate high for you. When do you wear clothes. (Continued…)

I think it's hilarious that you people are taking this article so seriously. Don't you think that if this writer was serious about the subject matter that she'd actually come up with reasonable excuses not to be nude? Can you really believe that she'd seriously use "spilling coffee" as a reason we should stay clothed. (Continued…)

If the world was not at war we would be debatiing the issue of legalizing public nudity and be carrying on with Bill Clinton's liberal agenda.

The question isn't whether or not we should all be nude all the time, but whether or not public nudity should be allowed. It's ridiculous to think that people would go nude all the time, if for no other reason than the fact that it gets cold, it rains, it snows, etc. (Continued…)

Another question might be along the lines of- Am I going to jail because I opened up that website and viewed those pictures? Honestly officer, I'm an upstanding guy. (Continued…)
