The final three finishers were seniors Nick Kwaterski (-4, +7, -2; +1) and Zach Guthrie (E, +6, +3; +9) who finished tied for 42nd and 70th, respectively. Sophomore Brian Scott (+1, +4, +4; +9) tied his teammate for 70th, but Blasi said he will only get better with time.
"(Scott's) getting his feet wet, and he's getting more and more experience," Blasi said. "The more tournaments he has under his belt, the better the scores are going to be."
Up next for the 'Necks is a trip to Northwestern on Sunday to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic. Besides the host, which is the reigning Big Ten champion, other teams in the competition include Colorado, Illinois and Michigan State.
"It'll be a real privilege for us to be playing in it," Blasi said. "It'll be a good opportunity for (the team) to play in front of their family and friends. The competition will be really, really strong, but at the same time we've already proven this year that when we play well, we can compete."
This tournament will be especially interesting for Streng whose off-season instructor is one of Northwestern's coaches. Teams tee off Sunday and wrap up the contest the following day.
