Every rocker and metal-head packed themselves like sardines into the tiny Riviera Theater in Chicago on Sept. 24 to see one of today's hottest metal bands. Man did it seriously rock!

The venue was filled with head-bangers. People of all ages were at the highly anticipated concert, ranging from young teens to 60-year-old men and women. Disturbed added the Chicago show to its 2005 tour because it wanted to give its hometown some love.

"It's so great to be back home," said lead singer David Draiman.

Draiman had the place pumped after playing some of the band's best songs, like "The Sickness," "Believe," "Awaken" and the title track from its new CD "Ten Thousand Fists."

Draiman also had the crowd pumped after talking about how today's music is horrible, and he even talked about some of his political views about the war and George W. Bush.

"If you can be 18 and be drafted into the army and die for your country, you should be able to drink when you're 18" Draiman said.

Forget about the mosh pits at Ozzfest and Warped Tour - it was a mad house at the Riviera. It was about 90 degrees and during the first three songs, the people in the crowd were pushing their way up to the front of the stage. People were shoving into each other and pretty much getting pulverized.

As much as Disturbed rocked, it was hard to enjoy the show. After a while, the crowd stopped its havoc and the show was amazing. Just watching Dan Donegan perform some crazy maneuvers on the fretboard of his guitar, and Mike Wengren's incredible footwork on the drums was a new experience. It was hard to not bang your head to their awesomeness.

No cameras were allowed into the theater, but that didn't stop people from pulling out their camera cell phones. Apparently, the temptation was too great not to take pictures of gods of rock.

Disturbed performed all of its best songs like "Fear," "Deify" and "Prayer," but as an encore, Dave Draiman wanted to know what the audience wanted to hear.

"Stupify!" the crowd said.

Unsurprised, Draiman replied, "Are we that f***in' predictable?" But he said all right, and the band played it, and it rocked hard.

Draiman said he was a little disappointed with his hometown fans. He was particularly unhappy with the lack of participation. Draiman didn't like the fact the people in the "high rise" seats weren't standing up.

"You know one place I never had to tell people to stand up? Oklahoma City." The crowd was upset with the fact that it was being compared to Oklahoma City and everyone gave Disturbed a standing ovation.

Draiman said he still loves his hometown, and will always love coming back to sweet home Chicago to perform.
