'Kiss Me, Kate' coming to Western this weekend

Western's 34th Summer Music Theatre Season will open with "Kiss Me, Kate," beginning June 24 at Hainline Theatre

Directed by Marcus Olson, "Kiss Me, Kate" takes chaos and adds romance to its plot to incorporate a show full of dancing and singing including classic songs written by Cole Porter such as "Why Can't You Behave," "So In Love," " Tom, Dick Or Harry," "Too Darn Hot," "From This Moment On," "Kiss Me Kate," and "Another Openin', Another Show."

Tickets can be purchased at the Hainline Theatre Box Office at 309/298-2900 during regular office hours of noon to 5 p.m. or online at www.wiu.edu/summermusictheatre.

Ticket prices are $20 for adults/staff/faculty, $15 for senior citizens (62 and above), $6 for students enrolled in summer classes and $10 for children under 12. Group rates for groups of 15 or more are available as well when ordering tickets for the same night of a performance.

Included in this year's season of Summer Music Theatre are "Mame" on July 8 and 9 as well as July 14 to 16 and "Evita" on July 22 and 23 as well as July 28 to 30. If interested in purchasing all three productions, season tickets are available for $50.
