Halfway through "The Yellow Bastard," Miller switches the tale to the "The Hard Goodbye," starring Mickey Rourke as a half-man, half-beast killing machine named Marv, who is seeking revenge for the murder of the only woman who ever showed him a touch of kindness, a hooker named Goldie (Jaime King). The search leads to Kevin, a psycho-serial killer played by Elijah Wood. This story is the core of "Sin City," and it's the best of the three episodes.
The final vignette is the tale of "The Big Fat Kill." This tale stars Clive Owen as Dwight, one of Sin City's only good guys and Rosario Dawson as Gail, his ex-lover and the leader of a gang of Amazonian hookers. Benicio Del Toro does a great turn as Jackie Boy, a ruthless, corrupt cop looking for a good time. When Jackie Boy is murdered, Dwight steps in and maintains the truce setup between the hookers of Old Town and the cops.
"Sin City" is an amazing cinematic film, with the best action and beautiful cinematography of any comic to film epic. This movie will be a favorite of those who enjoy the dialogue in "Pulp Fiction," the action of "Kill Bill" and incomparable cinematography. Those who cannot see past a shotgun blast to the groin to the greater development of the story should watch "Miss Congeniality 2."
