Every once in awhile, a game is created that sets the gaming world ablaze and leaves the inhabitants burning for more. “Doom III” is being developed to do just that, where the gamer will be immersed in a world where he will be torn limb from limb, and love every minute of it.
The revival of the cult classic first- person perspective shooter from the early 1990s known as “Doom” for the PC is emerging and is being revamped and redesigned to scare the hell out of even the most hardened gamer. The developers at id Software are hard at work creating one of the most technologically advanced video games to ever grace the PC.
“Doom III” boasts the most detailed and realistic 3D models ever thought possible in a PC game. You can forget about the look of the demons from the earlier series of “Doom,” because now the hell-spawned monstrosities that “Doom” fans are used to seeing look like something out of your worst nightmares. The models are huge and contain repulsive features and disfigurements to their bodies.
Zombies come after you walking with gory wounds on their flesh. The closer it gets to you, the better you can see the pores and facial hair on its face and the dead white eyes.
Hell knights, which are ugly hell-spawned beasts that tower over you and brandish massive claws and razor sharp teeth, salivate and stride toward you with massive thumps that rumble the ground beneath you.
The veins on their hands can be seen with amazing detail as the beast comes closer within your proximity. This absolute terrifying evil goes into every one of the estimated 20+ different creatures in the game.
Aside from this, id Software has developed “per-polygon hit detection” within the “Doom III” engine. This will accurately show the wounds from the weapon you use upon one of the monsters. For example, if you were to shoot a bullet into the leg of a creature, a bloody lesion will show upon its leg. If you shoot one of the zombies a few times in the stomach, his innards will spill out on the ground.
