Jawbreaker
"Dear You"
(1995)
Flashback
If anyone needs a check on their age and the rapidly passing time, the dawn of 1995 is now, in fact, a little more than 10 years old. Yikes. Many people reading this newspaper were even born 10 years before that; and if that's not enough to incite a slight feeling of depression, then surely the musical styling of Jawbreaker should suffice; if not by empathy toward the often morbid lyrics, then probably from the relationship-fueled angst which is painfully apparent and has the amazing ability to drudge up suppressed, rotten feelings of love and heartbreak.… Post the First Comment

Schultze Gets The Blues
Grade: B+
DVD REVIEW
As fall slowly settles in, it reminds us of bratwurst, sauerkraut and German beer. Oktoberfest is a time for celebrating polka and funny hats. Yet, the international film "Schultze Gets The Blues," gives off the same mood without the hangover. The quiet (but not boring), subtitled film was released in Germany in 2003, and was written/directed by Michael Schorr, who gives the main character, Schultze (Horst Krause), a genuine quality of curiosity toward an unknown future of self-discovery.… Post the First Comment

"Searching For A Former Clarity"
Grade: A-
ALBUM REVIEW
It's a pretty plain and boring CD cover. There's little to entice the uninformed consumer to purchase the 40 or so minutes of music revolving around in the stereo, but the dull façade is a wolf in sheep's clothing of sorts.… Post the First Comment

"A Bigger Bang"

ALBUM REVIEW
Although the Rolling Stones have not released a studio album in eight years, the members have still retained their scrappy brand of rock 'n' roll. Time has certainly been on their side. The group's latest effort, "A Bigger Bang," is not a comeback CD; it's just a good rock album period.… Post the First Comment
