Keep religion out of classroom
High schools and universities traditionally are bastions for political debate and discourse, which is typically welcomed and encouraged. However, one place that there should be no room for such debate is in the science classroom. Last week a federal judge ruled the Cobb County school board in Georgia had to remove stickers placed on high school biology textbooks saying, "This textbook contains material on evolution.… 13 Comments

Can I pass on I-Pass?

Let's think of what $50 can buy. It could buy a nice pair of pants and a matching top that I could wear for a job interview. It could buy me two tanks of gas that I could use to drive home and see my family. It could buy me about half a textbook. It could buy me a week's worth of groceries.… 13 Comments

True, you do write in an editorial section where you are entitled to your own opinion, but I think it is safe to say that all of us are sick of hearing your prejudiced views.… Post the First Comment

Letter to the Editor

Much like apple pie, hot dogs, and the Fourth of July baseball is without doubt an American pastime. And as in many other areas Americans expect much of the athletes whom compete in Major League Baseball. The recent media onslaught into players' usage of performance enhancing drugs has been emblematic of how much we truly expect from our baseball athletes.… Post the First Comment
